Ingredients
- 1 package angel food cake mix or 1 recipe for angel food cake
- 500 mL whipping cream
- 2 baskets strawberries
- Icing sugar
- Vanilla extract
Steps
- Prepare an angel food cake of your choice in a tube or Bundt cake pan.
- Bake at 350°F for about 40 minutes.
- Flip over and remove from pan. Allow cake to cool.
- Meanwhile, as the cake is baking: Wash strawberries; cut 3/4 of the total strawberries in half and reserve the remaining whole strawberries to garnish the top of the cake.
- Beat whipping cream with icing sugar and add vanilla to taste.
- Cut the cake horizontally into three pieces (2 cuts).
- To put cake together, alternate: cake, whipped cream, cut strawberries, repeat.
- Arrange the whole strawberries nicely on top of the cake.
- Note: Put enough cream between cake layers so that it flows pleasantly over the sides.
