Maple Fondue

Note: Serve the fondue in a small saucepan over a burner.

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup (125 mL) maple syrup 
  2. 2 cups (500 mL) table cream (preferably 15%) 
  3. 2 tsp (10 g) cornstarch 
  4. Mixed fruit, cut into chunks 
  5. Sponge cake, cut into cubes

Steps

  1. In a saucepan, heat the maple syrup for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, dilute the cornstarch in 2 tsp (10 g) of cream. Heat the rest of the cream until boiling. Add it to the maple syrup and then add the cornstarch.
  3. Heat on low, stirring constantly until thickened.
