Each cookie is a surprise as different ones contain different fillings: Caramilk, Oh Henry, etc.) Let your imagination guide you — why not a piece of fruit such as a grape? You get the idea!

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup butter
  2. 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  3. 3/4 cup sugar
  4. 2 eggs
  5. 1 tsp vanilla
  6. 2-1/4 cup flour
  7. 1/3 cup cocoa
  8. 1 tsp baking soda
  9. About 3 chocolate bars (50g) of various types, cut into cubes

Steps

  1. Cream together butter, brown sugar and sugar.
  2. Mix in eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  3. Sift together cocoa and baking soda. Stir into the existing mixture. (You can also omit the cocoa and then add a little more flour, or divide the dough in half to make half chocolate biscuits and half white cookies.)
  4. Let the dough stiffen in the refrigerator for a little while.
  5. Take a tablespoon of dough in the palm of your hand and widen the center to put a piece of chocolate in it. Close dough by rolling in the palm of your hand. (This is the surprise part!)
  6. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper. Bake cookies at 350°F for 8 to 12 minutes (depending on your oven) or until cookies flatten.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool on metal rack.
