Makes for a really nice presentation in a glass dish.
I always have a lot of success with this recipe. People always ask for it.
Ingredients
- 2 avocados
- Pinch salt
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) lemon juice
- 1 cup (250 mL) sour cream
- 1/2 packet (35 g) taco seasoning
- 1 cup (250 mL) Monterey Jack cheese, grated
- 1 cup (250 mL) Cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 cup (250 mL) tomatoes, seeded and cut in small dice
- 1/4 cup (65 mL) green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup (65 mL) black olives, chopped
Steps
- Peel, seed and mash the avocados with the salt and lemon juice.
- Spread the avocado mixture in the bottom of a round dish, preferably one made of clear glass.
- In a bowl, combine the sour cream with the taco seasoning. Spread on top of the avocado mixture.
- Spread the Monterey Jack on top and press gently.
- Add the Cheddar cheese, press gently.
- Add the diced tomatoes, then the green onions and finally the black olives.
- Refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Serve with nachos.
