Ingredients

  1. 1-1/2 cup (175 mL) all-purpose flour 
  2. 1/2 cup (112 g) sugar 
  3. 3 tsp (15 g) baking powder 
  4. 1 pinch of salt 
  5. 1 cup (250 mL) milk 
  6. 1/3 cup (85 mL) melted butter 
  7. 1 egg 
  8. 1 cup (250 mL) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F (190 C).
  2. Combine the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, chocolate) in a large bowl and the rest of the ingredients (milk, butter, egg) in a small bowl.
  3. Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients. Stir until combined.
  4. Pour into 12 greased muffin cups and bake on the middle rack for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean and the muffin tops are golden.
  5. Let cool before removing the muffins from the pan.
