Ingredients
- 2 cups (420 g) long grain rice
- 3-1/2 cups (875 mL) water
- 1/4 cup (65 mL) soy sauce
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) canola oil
- 1 package (50 g) onion soup mix
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 stalks celery, sliced on an angle
- 1 red pepper, diced
- 1 basket (225 g) white mushrooms, fresh, sliced
- 2 cups (200 g) cooked chicken, diced
- 1 pinch (1 g) salt
Steps
- In a large, ovenproof dish (10 cups; 2.5-litre capacity), add the ingredients in order and mix well.
- Place in the oven at 350 F (180 C) for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, uncovered.
- Stir at least three times during cooking.
- The rice is ready when the liquid is absorbed.
