Ingredients
- 1 ham (4 lb; 1,6 kg)
- 1 bottle (355 mL) beer
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) molasses
- 1/4 cup (50 g) brown sugar
- 1 tbsp (8 g) dry mustard
- 15 cloves, whole
- 5 bay leaves
- Pepper
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 300 F (150 C).
- Spaced evenly, push the cloves into the ham.
- Place the ham in an ovenproof dish. Set aside.
- In a bowl, mix the molasses, brown sugar and dry mustard. Add water as needed to make stirring easier. Pour evenly over the ham.
- Pour the beer over the ham.
- Add water until the ham is half submerged in liquid.
- Pepper and add the bay leaves around the ham.
- Cover and cook for about 5 hours at 300 F (150 C).
