Bavarian Apple Cheesecake

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (110 g) butter
- 1 cup (225g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (175 g) flour
- 1 package (250 g) of Philadelphia Cream Cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp (2.5 mL) vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp (2.5 g) cinnamon
- 4 cups (400 g) sliced apples
- 1/4 cup (20 g) sliced almonds
Steps
- Mix together the butter and 1/3 cup (75 g) granulated sugar. Stir in flour.
- Spread the dough in bottom and 1 inch (2.5 cm) high on the sides of a 9-inch (22 cm) hinged mold. Set aside.
- Beat cream cheese and 1/3 cup (75 g) granulated sugar until the mixture is homogeneous.
- Add egg and vanilla, mix well. Spread evenly in crust.
- Mix together remaining sugar and cinnamon. Coat apples in this mixture and then place on the layer of cream cheese. Sprinkle with almonds.
- Bake at 425°F (215°C) for 10 minutes.
- Reduce heat to 375°F (190°C) and bake 25 minutes more.
- Cool on rack.
- Refrigerate for 3 hours before serving.
