Note: This recipe is suited to a 1100-watt microwave.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250 mL) basmati rice
- 1 green pepper, cut into pieces
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp (5 g) thyme
- 1 tsp (5 g) chervil
- Pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp (15 g) chicken stock
- 1-1/2 cups (375 mL) water
- 1 knob of butter
Steps
- With a sieve, rinse and drain the rice.
- Melt the butter in the microwave, about 45 seconds on HIGH.
- Pour the butter into a large microwave-safe dish, and add the rice, green pepper and onion. Cook for 3 minutes in the microwave on HIGH, until the rice becomes translucent.
- Add the water, pepper, thyme, chervil and stock.
- Mix well. Cook in the microwave twice, 5 minutes each, at the highest level.
