Bamoun Hearts of Palm

If you prefer, you can substitute medium Cheddar for the Gruyère.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cans (14 oz; 398 ml) hearts of palm 
  2. 2 sweet red peppers 
  3. 1 lemon 
  4. 1/2 lb (225 g) Gruyère cheese, to taste 
  5. 1 tsp (5 mL) curry 
  6. Pepper to taste 
  7. 3/4 cup (190 mL) whipping cream

Steps

  1. Cut the red peppers, the hearts of palm and the Gruyère cheese in pieces. Combine in a salad bowl. Add the lemon juice.
  2. In another bowl, combine the whipping cream, the pepper and the curry. Pour the mixture on the hearts of palm.
  3. Marinate for several hours, up to 24 hours.
  4. Serve on a leaf of lettuce on a plate.
