Authentic Buffalo Chicken Wings

You can never make enough! For those who like spicy food, this recipe really is for them. But it can also be adapted for those who like their food mild, but tasty. Moreover, these wings won’t make your fingers sticky.

Ingredients

  1. 16 chicken wings (no tips)  
  2. Oil, for frying  
  3. 1/2 tsp (2 g) margarine  
  4. 1/8 tsp (1/2 mL) celery seeds  
  5. 1/4 tsp (1 g) cayenne pepper  
  6. 1/8 tsp (1/2 g) garlic salt  
  7. 6 tbsp (90 mL) hot sauce (such as Red Hot brand)  
  8. 1 tsp (5 mL) vinegar  
  9. 1/2 tsp (2 g) brown sugar  
  10. 1 tsp (5 mL) Tabasco sauce 
  11. 1/4 cup (65 mL) chili sauce or ketchup

Steps

  1. Heat the oil and cook the wings, a few at a time.
  2. Once cooked, put the wings on paper towel.
  3. Meanwhile, combine all of the sauce ingredients in a small casserole and warm on low heat. Mix well.
  4. Once all of the wings are cooked, place them in a bowl and cover with the sauce.
  5. Mix well to coat the wings thoroughly.
  6. Place a rack on a cookie sheet and put the wings on the rack.
