Apple Tourtière

Ingredients
- 1-1/2 lb (675 g) ground pork
- 1 onion, medium
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) flour
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) chicken broth
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp (2 ml) dried thyme
- 1 tsp (5 ml) salt
- 2 apples, small
- 2 pieces of pie dough (top and bottom)
Steps
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Brown pork with onion. Drain fat.
- Add flour and stir in chicken broth, mustard, thyme and salt.
- Cook, stirring until the mixture has thickened.
- Place the peeled apple slices on bottom of pie crust and pour pork mixture over top.
- Add another pie shell on top. Cut steam vents in top of the dough with a knife.
- Place the pie on a baking sheet. Bake at 400°F for about 35 minutes or until pastry is golden.
